Update for 16 JUNE 2026

IT IS HAPPENING!!!

We finally broke ground today on 16 June at the Lejeune Memorial Gardens in Jacksonville, NC.  We estimate about 10 weeks of construction if the weather remains favorable and we hope to schedule a dedication event in the Fall.

The Campaign

The HMA/HMLA-269 Gunrunners Alumni Association is conducting a campaign to establish a commemorative marker to honor the 54 years of service of the squadron and to appropriately honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice either in training, during contingency operations or in combat while assigned to 269.

The Commemorative Marker Campaign will cover the expenses associated with the location, design and construction of a monument which will be an appropriate tribute to the Gunrunners' long legacy and many contributions.
